Since the day when Covid19 has gripped the lives of people, the consumer experiences with the health care system have changed drastically. UnitedHealth Group has been working hard to cater to the needs of the people. In a recent interview, Dr.Deneen Vojta, Chief Physician Executive for OptumLabs and executive Vice President of research and development at UnitedHealth Group has discussed some resolutions for uplifting the healthcare experience for consumers and physicians.
- As the usage of telehealth in virtual care began to perk up from the beginning of the pandemic, UnitedHealth Group has collaborated with several providers, communities and modified several policies for the welfare of the people.
- Deneen Vojta said in the interview, “What has been highlighted during the pandemic is the disparity in care. Going forward, we will see a relentless focus on improving in this area. UnitedHealth Group has invested in a clinical scholar program to help fund a diverse workforce in the direct delivery of care”.
- She also explained some ways to provide benefits to the patients. For them, UnitedHealth Group must continue to offer financial and benefit incentives to help people manage their care. Recently UnitedHealth Group has provided a level 2 program to strengthen and enhance the health of people bearing Type2 diabetes. Optum’s HouseCalls programs have enabled to apply for an advanced case who would deliver care at home and meet patients’ health care and social needs.
- Regarding the providers of healthcare she also said, “We must make it easier for the providers to do their jobs”. And she suggested one opportunity that would systematize quality reporting and establish a single set of evidence-based care measures.
