Health insurance provider Humana Inc will have a vacant position of Chief Financial Officer after Brain Kane’s resolution to resign in coming June. Kane will step down on June 1, 2021, and would assist as an advisor for the rest of this year.
- Humana is looking for a new CFO following the retirement of Kane who will be leaving to seek other career goals. Brain Kane has been serving this Louisville, Ky-based company since the year 2014. Scott Fidel, an analyst with Stephens Inc., said in a research note, “ We expect there will be plenty of interest from top industry talent to interview for the seat”.
- Kane earlier had served in investment banking led Humana’s finances during a period of industrial stabilization. Under him, Humana also developed into the hospice and home healthcare enterprise, including through purchases, in 2018 of Curo Health Service and Kindred Healthcare Inc.
- Susan Diamond, the president of the company’s home business will operate as interim finance chief until a new CFO is instigated on the position. Susan had joined Humana in 2006 and had served several senior-level roles, including on the company’s Medicare team and supervising enterprise planning and forecasting.
- Humana’s President and Chief Executive Bruce Broussard said, “ given Susan’s strong knowledge of our business and financial expertise, I have great confidence in her ability to lead the finance team as we recruit a new CEO”.
